We need your help to defend media freedom in Canada. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is considering banning Fox News in response to a campaign led by Eagle Canada, a pro-LGBT rights advocacy organization.

This decision would infringe on the rights of Canadians to freely access information and make their own choices regarding the media they consume.

On April 4, Eagle Canada penned an open letter to the CRTC, calling for a ban on Fox News in Canada due to comments made by Tucker Carlson about the transgender community's aggression towards traditional Christians. While it is true that Carlson's statements made the LGBT mob angry, I must report that he has since left Fox News on May 3.

However, the CRTC is still considering invoking “Television Broadcasting Regulations” to ban Fox News for allegedly promoting "hate speech" against the LGBT community.

The term "hate speech" is vague and poorly defined, making it an inadequate criterion for determining which media content should be prohibited.

By banning Fox News, the CRTC would infringe on Canadians' media freedom and limit their access to diverse information sources. Canadians should be able to decide which content they wish to engage with, without governmental interference.

The double standard in this situation is clear: while the CRTC claims to champion "diversity" and "inclusion," it seeks to control media content that challenges mainstream narratives. True diversity requires accepting differing political thoughts and ideologies, allowing for open discussion and debate within the public sphere.

We must stand up for media freedom in Canada and demand that the CRTC does NOT ban Fox News. Let us defend our right to access diverse information sources and make choices about the media we consume.

Sign the petition now and share it with friends, family, and social networks.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure Canadians continue to enjoy a truly diverse and inclusive media landscape that allows for freedom of speech and discussion from all political opinions, including those we disagree with.

Do NOT ban Fox News in Canada

To Vicky Eatrides, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the CRTC,

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the potential decision to ban Fox News from Canadian cable packages. We believe such a decision would limit Canadians' freedom on the Internet and their access to information over the airwaves, cable TV, and the Internet.

Freedom of speech and access to diverse information sources are fundamental rights in a democratic society. Fox News has long been a source of viewpoints and news coverage, providing another perspective to other mainstream media outlets.

By banning Fox News, the CRTC would significantly limit the diversity of opinions and information available to Canadians, particularly those with a more conservative worldview.

Moreover, this potential ban sets a dangerous precedent for regulating media content in Canada. If the CRTC can ban a major news outlet like Fox News, it may pave the way for future censorship of other channels or platforms expressing differing opinions or challenging mainstream narratives.

Instead, the CRTC should promote an ideologically diverse and open media landscape that allows Canadians to make informed decisions and engage in meaningful discussions on important issues, regardless of whether it is viewed as left-wing or right-wing political messaging.

Canadians are mature enough to decide what type of media messaging they want to engage with, including messaging opposite to one’s own opinions and beliefs. Canadians should be able to decide freely what type of media they want to enjoy and consume while ignoring content that differs from their worldview.

We call on you as the Chairperson and CEO of the CRTC to uphold the principles of freedom of speech and access to information all Canadians expect within Canada by not banning Fox News. Canadians should have access to international and ideological news sources to make the most informed opinions regarding all issues in the world today.

We demand that the CRTC does not ban Fox News because it would be limiting Canadians' media freedom and their access to information available on Canadian Airwaves, Cable TV, and the Internet.

Sincerely,
