Prestanite poticati nesnošljivost i mržnju na Amazonu
Na internetskoj stranici amazon.com (koja je danas najveća internetska trgovina na svijetu) u prodaji je moguće kupiti otirač za noge s printom zastave Republike Hrvatske.
Motiv nacionalnih simbola kao što su grb i zastava na otiraču za noge vrijeđanje je države čije su one simbol i izravna su analogija u odnosu na zemlju i narod od kojih netko želi brisati noge. Oglašavanje i prodaja takvih predmeta poticanje je na nesnošljivost i mržnju.
Republika Hrvatska je, prije nekoliko dana, 15. siječnja obilježila 25 godina od međunarodnog priznanja tadašnjih članica EU. Svoju slobodu i neovisnost izborila je zahvaljujući žrtvi hrvatskih branitelja od kojih su mnogi položili svoj život na oltar Domovine. Svi oni borili su se pod hrvatskim stijegom kojeg Amazon oglašava i prodaje kao otirač za cipele. Stoga ovom peticijom od Amazona tražimo obustavu reklamiranja i prodaje tog proizvoda.
Grbom, zastavom i himnom Republike Hrvatske predstavlja se Republika Hrvatska i izražava se pripadnost Republici Hrvatskoj. Prema zakonu o Grbu, zastavi i himni Republike Hrvatske nacionalni simboli koriste se na način da ističu dostojanstvo i ugled RH. S obzirom na odredbe tog Zakona, osjećaj nacionalne pripadnosti i poštivanja RH nije vjerojatno da će ga nabaviti itko tko RH voli ili barem poštuje kao nezavisnu i slobodnu državu.
Otirač za noge sa zastavom potiče nesnošljivost i mržnju prema Hrvatima, kao i prema drugim državama i narodima čije se zastave Amazon također prodaje kao otirače za noge.
Stoga vas pozivamo da potpišete peticiju i zaustavite obezvrjeđivanje hrvatskih nacionalnih simbola.

Na Amazonu postoji ponuda različitih predmeta s otiskom zastava i drugih nacionalnih simbola. Nažalost, neke od njih se koriste u uvredljivom kontekstu za narode čiji su to nacionalni simboli. Korištenje nacionalnih simbola kao što su grb i zastava na otiraču za noge vrijeđanje je država koje predstavljaju.
Nacionalne zastave izvješene su na mjestima vršenje državne vlasti u zemljama širom svijeta. Mnogi ljudi svoje nacionalne boje poštuju i u posebnim prigodama vješaju zastave ispred svojih domova.
U mnogim zemljama postoji i zakonska kazna zbog vrijeđanja državnih simbola među kojima su zastava i grb.
U europskoj kulturi gaziti zastavu jednog naroda izraz je prezira prema tom narodu. Prema tome, prodaja hrvatskih zastava kao otirača za noge (kao što se to dogodilo na Amazonu) ili bilo kojeg drugog naroda shvaćena je kao poticanje na nesnošljivost i mržnju prema Hrvatskoj.

Stop seling doormats with Croatian flag and emblem
To whom it may concern,
On Amazon’s web pages, there are many promotional items being sold containing the national flags of various countries around the world. Unfortunately, the flags of some countries, including the Croatian national flag, are being used in a particularly offensive manner. Specifically, the sale of DOORMATS with national flags printed on them, which is both extremely disrespectful and derogatory to the very nation represented by that flag.
During times of trial and tribulations, such as wartime, national flags are often used as a beacon of hope, and a symbol of what the country stands for. They visually encompass the history, culture and heritage of a nation. Athletes proudly compete under their national flags and people proudly display their country’s flag during national celebrations and holidays.
Most countries prohibit by law, the desecration or insult to their national symbols, including their national flag. For most of the civilized world, the trampling underfoot of a nation’s flag is an outright expression of contempt and disrespect for this nation. Consequently, the sale of doormats with the Croatian national flag printed on it (as seen on Amazon.com) or with the flag of any other nation for that matter, is effectively promoting hostility and disdain toward that nation.
In 2016, the Republic of Croatia celebrated the 25th anniversary of its international recognition. Its freedom and independence was won thanks to the selfless sacrifice of tens of thousands of Croatians, many of whom were killed during Croatia’s war of independence. They fought for and died under the Croatian national flag. The same flag printed on the doormats advertised and sold by Amazon.com!
We strongly and without delay, urge Amazon to remove the above described offensive doormats from its website. We also request that there be a change in the website’s regulations, wherein the sale of similar products would automatically be blocked by the website administrators.
