Imagine a place where practising your faith is a death sentence. Now, open your eyes to the harsh reality in Nigeria.

Every day, Christians are abducted, maimed, or killed simply for their beliefs. Southern Nigeria is the epicentre of these heinous attacks, largely targeting Christians. Over the past 14 years, Islamist militants have ruthlessly murdered at least 52,250 Nigerian Christians. Among the casualties, over 30,000 fell during the eight-year presidency of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

This year alone, over 1,000 Christians have already been killed. Within the same period, at least 707 Christians were kidnapped, including our dear Father Eze.

What's worse? The global community seems unphased. It's time to shout "Enough is enough!"

Our plea is backed by damning evidence. A report in May revealed that 1,400 people were extorted and 300 others vanished. Furthermore, 1,200 homes were burnt down, displacing 30,000 owners. This devastation forced half a million citizens to flee Imo State.

Religious freedom is under siege in Nigeria. Last year, over 5,600 Christians died in religiously motivated attacks, over 2,100 churches were targeted, and more than 124,000 Christians were displaced. In parts of northern Nigeria, Christians are treated as second-class citizens due to the enforcement of Sharia law.

This campaign has the power to expose the deteriorating state of religious freedom in Nigeria. Both the current and previous governments have turned a blind eye to the escalating Christian genocide in the West African nation. But we can change that.

If we don't act, the abduction, maiming, and murder of Christians will continue unabated. Christians will live in fear in their own country, while their pleas fall on deaf government ears. But if our petition is successful, we can restore religious freedom in Nigeria.

Our task is urgent. We must act now before it's too late.

Join us in demanding the Nigerian government act with immediacy to free abducted christians and end the persistent Christian persecution in Nigeria. Sign our petition today!

End christian persecution in Nigeria, secure freedom of abducted faithfuls

Dear president Tinubu,

It is with grave concern that we call upon the Nigerian government to take immediate action in securing the freedom of abducted priest Christians and putting an end to the relentless Christian persecution in Nigeria. Day by day, priests, pastors, and Christians are being abducted, maimed, or killed, with Southern Nigeria becoming a center of massive attacks targeting Christians.

A staggering 52,250 Nigerian Christians have been brutally murdered at the hands of Islamist militants in the past 14 years. During this time, 18,000 churches and 2,200 Christian schools were set ablaze, and the outlook for 2023 remains grim with over 1,000 Christians killed since the beginning of the year.

In addition to these appalling statistics, at least 707 Christians have been kidnapped across Nigeria in recent times. This includes the abduction of over 100 Christians in Adunu (Paikoro) on March 14, 2023. The violence has also resulted in the destruction of 1,200 civilian houses, displacing 30,000 people, and the forced disappearance of 300 others.

Nigeria is home to numerous armed actors committing violence with dire implications for religious freedom. Last year, religiously motivated attacks led to the deaths of over 5,600 Christians and the targeting of over 2,100 churches, causing the forcible displacement of over 124,000 Christians. Due to the enforcement of Sharia law in some northern Nigerian states, Christian residents face systematic discrimination and are treated as second-class citizens.

We implore the Nigerian government to take decisive action in securing the release of abducted Christians, as well as putting an end to the ongoing persecution. The time for change is now. We cannot afford to wait any longer.
