In less than a week we’ve received over 10,000 signatures for our petition against Quebec’s use of vaccine passports for churches.

Despite this, we have not received a response from Premier Legault, nor from anyone in his government.

Quebec citizens who haven't been vaccinated against COVID-19 are still banned from going to church, receiving sacraments, and being a part of their faith community!

This is why we’re keeping up the pressure.

We’d like you to call Premier François Legault’s office and let him know how wrong it is to deny unvaccinated people in Quebec the ability to go to church.

Here is an example of what you could say:

"I would like to let Premier Legault know that I am appalled by his government’s decision to require vaccine passports for places of worship. A vaccine shouldn’t be required to worship God with one’s faith community or receive sacraments. The Quebec government does not have the authority to decide the conditions under which one can or can’t enter a church. Please get rid of the vaccine passport requirement for churches immediately.”

Please note as well that fluency in French is helpful here, but not required.

Feel free to adapt or customize the message to highlight your own thoughts - there’s a lot of other reasons to be appalled at Premier Legault’s policy (for example, we have good reason to believe bishops in Quebec weren’t consulted beforehand).

It seems as if more governments than not are making decisions to forego their duty to make right and just policies so that they can make the lives of the unvaccinated miserable. Governments are very committed to these policies, but if the Quebec government receives hundreds of phone calls from Canadians upset with their attack on religious freedom, maybe they will see it for the bad decision that it is.

So, if you’re able, please call the office of Quebec Premier François Legault to express your opposition to his government's policy of requiring vaccine passports for places of worship.
