Transwomen ARE men: Unban Newcastle United fan
Transwomen ARE men: Unban Newcastle United fan
A fight for freedom of speech is intensifying at St James' Park in a disturbing situation that transcends the world of football, and we need your voice to make a difference.
A devoted female Newcastle United supporter is being punished by the club simply for defending the reality of biological sex.
The fan, who wishes to remain anonymous, fearing backlash from LGBT activists, has had her club membership revoked and is also barred from attending matches until 2025 for posting that “trans women are men” on X (formerly Twitter).
Newcastle United also reported the woman to Northumbria Police. Shockingly, the police told the woman that her post could be deemed “malicious communication” and asked whether she had any "lawful excuse" for posting it.
Recalling the incident, the woman said she was made to feel that she’d done something wrong.
She didn’t. She expressed a legal belief that is shared by the vast majority of the public.
Whilst the police have suspended their inquiry, the woman's Newcastle United ban remains.
**Please, sign our petition now, calling on Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Chairman of Newcastle United Football Club and Governor of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, who own the club, and Sarah Medcalf, Head of Supporter Services at Newcastle United Football Club, to restore this woman's club membership and apologise for the distress caused.**
Under the Communications Act 2003, it is illegal to express ‘grossly offensive’ views online. Police and prosecutors have tried to use this law to criminalise so-called ‘misgendering’.
Thankfully, they have failed every time – including this time.
Nevertheless, these vague laws have still enabled police and others – like Newcastle United – to punish those who believe in the biological reality of sex.
And they will continue to do so if we don’t take action every time they are wrongly applied.
**Join us in demanding Yasir Al-Rumayyan and Sarah Medcalf at Newcastle United restore this woman’s club membership and allow her to attend games again.**
Newcastle United is owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. They, along with a majority of Newcastle United fans and the general public, will share the woman's view that transwomen are men.
A flood of support for this woman could force the club to right this wrong.
If we don't act now, the consequences could ripple far beyond St James' Park! We could see other clubs, groups, and organisations start banning people for stating biological truths. This could extend to restaurants, swimming pools, you name it. But, if we succeed, this woman will get to watch her beloved team play again. And free speech will be upheld.
**Help us make a difference. Sign our petition calling on Yasir Al-Rumayyan and Sarah Medcalf at Newcastle United to restore this woman's membership and apologise for the distress caused.**
