The rainbow is a Judeo-Christian symbol from the Bible. It belongs to God and not to the LGBTQ community and other politically motivated movements. The misuse of the rainbow for political purposes must stop!

Justification:

Rainbow bridge, rainbow press, rainbow flag - we encounter the rainbow everywhere in very different contexts today. But what is the original meaning of the rainbow? Where does it come from?

The answer: The rainbow was created by God. It is the sign of God's covenant with humanity. It promises: "I will never again destroy the earth with a flood of water!"

How was the rainbow created? The Bible says: In the days of Noah (about 2500 BC), mankind was so corrupted by all kinds of sin that God decided to wipe out all but a few people. In the Bible we read about this:

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” (Genesis 6:5-7)

Then, according to the Bible, God sent a worldwide flood of water over the earth that destroyed all land life. However, he saved eight people (righteous Noah and his family) and a fixed number of animals in the ark (a huge ship) through the flood.

The rainbow was placed in the sky by God after this worldwide flood disaster to show that He will never again destroy the earth in a deluge. God spoke:

“I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” (Genesis, 8:21-11; 9,11-13 and 9:15)

Jesus Christ prophesied that conditions on earth at the end of time will be just as bad as in the days of Noah and the Flood, when the former world ended:

"For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." (Matthew 24:37-39)

About the sin that will run rampant especially in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ to earth, the Bible predicts the following:

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men. (2. Timothy 3:1-9)

Today we are obviously living in this end-time where sins of every kind are rampant and even publicly tolerated: Immorality, fornication, injustice, unkindness, corruption, hatred, wars and also mockery and blasphemy against God and His Son Jesus Christ are increasing. The Bible says that Jesus Christ will come to earth again in the end to judge mankind. However, he will not send a flood of water as in the days of Noah (the rainbow is a sign of this), but a flood of fire:

Scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. (2. Peter 3:3-10)

We are clearly living in the times when this is about to happen. Still, God is calling people to turn from their ungodly ways and come back to Him.

Conclusion:

Today the rainbow is being used for exactly the opposite of what God created it to be. This misuse must stop. The rainbow belongs to God and not to the LGBTQ community nor to any other political movements!
