As the cold nights roll in, hundreds of thousands of families, children, and older people could be left in the dark without heat due to soaring energy costs that we just can’t afford.

The high prices of energy and gasoline have critical effects on cost-of-living increases in our daily lives... Inflation is hitting families hard, especially wage-earners and the elderly.

People are getting ridiculously high new energy bills, and many businesses are in danger of closing.

The whole world is in crisis.  We must take action before it’s too late!

We can't expect the government to solve all our problems for us but what we can expect from our politicians is that they stop making money on energy taxes on top of the already sky-high energy prices.

Families are taxed enough. Therefore, we now call for the next, much-needed crisis measure: temporarily suspend ALL taxes that currently make already ridiculously high energy bills even higher.

There is a deteriorating cost of living crisis in the UK as in April, household energy bills rose by 54% and were due to increase by a further 80% in October. The government limited this rise to an additional 27% but the energy price cap is still predicted to rise to £3,700 in April 2023, which is almost double last year's figure. 

Bakers, restaurants, and small business owners are just some who are at risk from the severe problems of rising energy prices, resulting not only from the war in Ukraine but also from longstanding policies of our government and LEFTIST governments worldwide.

The rush to eliminate carbon-producing fuels led to much less investment in new oil and gas production than before.Even nuclear power was not seen as "green" enough, and we still cannot generate enough energy using only solar and wind.

Sky-high bills, rising grocery costs, increasing rents, and unreasonable gas costs are all adding up to an impossible situation for many of us. We are amidst a wildly slippery slope of high energy taxes, inflation, and general impoverishment with dramatic consequences for our future if we don’t say ENOUGH!

The situation is unsustainable.

Therefore, if only as a sign of solidarity, it would be appropriate for the government to stop levying taxes on energy for the duration of this crisis.

Now is the time to act.

From CitizenGO, we will do whatever it takes to protect the citizens and demand that our elected representatives do their jobs without delay—from demanding the immediate suspension of the energy taxes to flooding their offices with phone calls and organizing massive concentrations and deliveries of signatures around the world.

We want to stop the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people who can't make ends meet due to the insufferable combination of high energy taxes and petrol, inflation, and the general increase in the cost of living.
