Please help us in the fight against this disrespectful and blasphemous movie by urging Donovan Leitch, 852 Films, Martingale Pictures, Voltage Pictures, Cloudlight, and Elevated Films stop the release of the "Habit" film.

Hollywood is set to release yet another outrageous and blasphemous movie featuring Jesus Christ. This time portraying Christ as a woman who engages in a myriad of inappropriate and salacious acts while also serving as the romantic foil for the main female character.

According to early reports from EOnline and Deadline, the movie Habit will star Bella Thorne, as a street-smart girl with a Jesus fetish who masquerades as a nun while trying to escape the consequences of a violent drug deal. If the byline itself didn’t catch your attention, this next part certainly will. The film prominently features appearances of “Jesus Christ” played by Paris Jackson the daughter of the late Michael Jackson. Of course, the controversial choice to misgender Christ is only the beginning of this film’s “edgy” choices intended to offend Christians around the globe.

This blasphemous content should not be tolerated. For Christians around the world who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, portraying him in this manner is deeply offensive. The Christian Film and Television Commission has been working in Hollywood for nearly 40 years. Through that time, we have had tremendous success partnering with the studios to not only release more faith-based content but also to represent millions of global Christians who make up a large part of these studio’s target audience! But with every success, there are new attacks on the faith. We are bringing public attention to this blasphemous film about Jesus. We need to work hard on dissuading any studio from distributing it!

This mischaracterization of Jesus needs to be addressed before it reaches susceptible young people! You can help us by adding your name to our petition!

The movie is already in post-production after wrapping filming about a week before the industry's coronavirus shutdowns. However, no release date has been planned. This means that there is still a chance to stop the widescale release of the film. Michael Jones and Silver Heart Productions are no longer listed as members of Habit's production team as originally reported by Deadspin. All petition signatures will be sent to Donovan Leitch, 852 Films, Martingale Pictures, Voltage Pictures, Cloudlight, and Elevated Films. Through this petition, we can pressure those companies to halt the release of these films while also building a coalition to show Hollywood that this kind of movie is unacceptable, unwanted, and unprofitable!

Petition: Stop Habit

To: Donovan Leitch, 852 Films, Martingale Pictures, Voltage Pictures, Cloudlight, and Elevated Films.

I’m writing to you because I just heard the disturbing news that your company is producing a film that from all reports I find deeply offensive to my faith and to the beliefs of billions of Christians and non-Christians around the globe.

Your movie Habit, which takes “artistic liberty” in its portrayal of Jesus Christ is profoundly disrespectful to the community of more than 2 billion Christians around the world who revere Jesus as part of their triune God. Your portrayal of Christ is such a grotesque representation that it is offensive even for those outside of the Christian faith who deny Christ’s deity but revere him as an important historical figure. This includes more than one billion Muslims around the world.

While I respect your freedom to create such a movie, I am deeply disappointed by your blatant disrespect to such a large portion of the global population who find your portrayal of Christ to be blasphemous, disrespectful, and deeply offensive.

From the context of your film, it seems clear that your intention is to offend and mock Christians, but it is my sincere hope that you will reconsider the production and release of this film out of a respect for your fellow humans and their deeply held religious beliefs.
